The electric teal of Neeli Lehar lives in the silk warp of this Chanderi — and silk holds cerulean with an intensity and depth that cotton alone could never achieve. The ground is saturated and luminous, shifting subtly between teal and cerulean as the fabric moves in light. Over this vivid base, a bold batik resist circle print — large, overlapping, interlocking rings in ivory resist — creates a graphic, almost modernist composition that is entirely unexpected on a traditional sari.
