A silk-cotton Chanderi dipped in a monsoon forest and lifted out still dripping. Dense, alive, dimensional — the silk warp carrying the olive-green with a depth that flat cotton could never hold.
The deep olive-forest green of Van Priya lives in the silk warp of this Chanderi — which means the colour is not flat but dimensional, shifting from deep moss in shadow to a warmer, lighter olive where the silk catches the light. This is the quality that distinguishes silk-cotton Chanderi from every other printed fabric: the ground itself is alive. Over this luminous base, an all-over batik resist botanical unfolds — large circular blooms, curling vines, full leaves and budding sprigs in ivory resist, so tightly packed the pattern reads almost as texture from a distance. Up close, each motif is distinct and botanical.
